GEP POLICY
Gender Equality Plan Declaration
LAION e.V. is a non-profit association registered in Germany. To demonstrate our commitment to fostering a fair and inclusive research environment, we hereby adopt this Gender Equality Plan (GEP).
This declaration was formally adopted on 1 March 2026 by the Christoph Schuhmann, Jenia Jitsev and Robert Kaczmarczyk.
Commitment areas
LAION e.V. commits to implementing concrete measures and targets across the following areas:
- work–life balance and an inclusive organisational culture
- gender balance in leadership and decision-making bodies
- gender equality in recruitment, retention, and career progression
- integration of the gender dimension into research and innovation content
- measures to prevent and address gender-based violence and sexual harassment
Implementation
Until a responsible person or team is designated, the chairpersons will oversee the implementation of the GEP measures, set measurable targets, and report on progress. This declaration will be reviewed and updated periodically to reflect evolving goals and outcomes.
